A note about customs charges, Europe and BREXIT

European Customers: please be aware that although the majority of my products are zero-rated books, you may still be charged Import Duty. My business is too small for it to viable for me to sign up to the IOSS scheme, which means I have no way of accounting for Export Duty on European sales. Therefore, if you are ordering from mainland Europe, there is a risk of unforeseen Import Charges. Hugest apologies but this is totally outside my control. Thank you for understanding, I am so sorry.

KNITSONIK LTD. is a one-woman, disabled-owned business. I pack all KNITSONIK orders up myself and drive them to the nearby Royal Mail depot.

This has certain advantages - for example if you would like your book signed, or if you are buying gifts and would like me to enclose a couple of kind words for the recipient, I'm always thrilled to do this for you. If I recognise your name/email/handle from online space, it's likely you'll get a scrawled smiley face on your receipt; these are the joys of being a tiny, independent business owner!

On the downside, I cannot offer the same level of flexibility and choice of Delivery Options as a larger enterprise.

Six years of fulfiling all my orders myself has enabled me to develop a little system which I find reliable and cost-effective, and this is the system I will use when you place your order in my online shop.

Thursday is KNITSONIK Fulfilment Day! Order by 3pm GMT on Wednesdays to make the weekly shipment The cut-off time for ordering is 3pm GMT on Wednesdays - orders placed after this time will be bumped to the following weeks' fulfilment day. In order to be able to continue developing inspiring and innovative products, I am unable to offer rush-shipping and I only fulfil orders on Thursdays.

I am unable to offer tracked services on shipments as this would make postal costs prohibitive - so if your order is taking a while to arrive, please don't email me asking for a tracking number: there is no tracking number!

That said, in over five years of shipping books all over the world, only a very few orders have vanished without trace so please don't panic if your order is taking a little while to arrive: it is on its way.

Please ensure that you select the correct country and enter your ZIP / Postcode & Country correctly. This enables the correct Delivery charge to be applied to your order and helps prevent against loss and delay. You will receive an Order Confirmation email immediately after placing an order here; this will show the delivery address details you have entered. If you do not receive this email, or if the details entered are incorrect, please email knitsonik@outlook.com immediately so it can be fixed.

Delivery Times

All orders are sent using Royal Mail Click & Drop, for which estimated shipping times are given on this page. However, many things can affect delivery times including public holidays; adverse weather conditions; industrial action or just plain old bad luck. In reality, shipping times work out more like this and are from the date of shipping, (which might be later than the date on which you placed your order).

In most of the countries to which KNITSONIK LTD. ships books, "working days" means Mon - Fri and does not include weekends or Bank Holidays and these dates are offered as a rough guideline only.

  • UK 1st Class: 1 - 5 working days
  • Mainland Europe: 7 - 14 working days
  • Rest of World: 7 - 21 working days

This calendar is useful for getting a quick check on working days between order placement and estimated arrival date.

You can follow updates about the Royal Mail service on this page of the Royal Mail website

If your order has not arrived within 40 working days (outside of UK) or 25 working days (within UK) after it has shipped, you may be eligible for a replacement. Please contact KNITSONIK to arrange this by emailing knitsonik@outlook.com with your order details.

Please ensure that the delivery address is correct!

I always do my best to get your order to you in good condition and in a timely way; however if the wrong address is entered I have no way to check this. Your order will likely be returned to me, and the goods will likely be damaged in transit as the world's postal systems attempt to work out where it's meant to go. In this instance, to send the order out a second time, I will replace the damaged goods but will need to invoice you for the extra postage charges as this is not a cost that I can afford to absorb. To avoid paying postage twice, please ensure the address is correct at the time the order is placed. Many Thanks.
