Since 2020, designer and textile maker Ella Gordon has been combining carefully arranged palettes of woolly yarn (Wirsit) with inspirational photos of Shetland (Inspo). These photos have been posted every week on Jamieson & Smith’s social media platforms. To create each post, Ella takes a picture of life in Shetland then matches it up to shades from the Jamieson & Smith 2ply Jumper Weight yarn range. This volume contains over 50 images taken from this series, created between 2020 - 2023.

You do not need to be able to knit to enjoy Wirsit Inspo but, if you do, the yarn shades used for each photo are published alongside the inspiration source. This is so helpful as it means that, should you wish to act on the inspiration provided in the photos, the shade names are right there for you to use. 

No matter your medium - whether you work in wool or fabric or paint or ink - these rich and colourful volumes will give you new ways to think about colour, and new ways to draw it from the world around you. As well as that, this volume is an uplifting celebration of Shetland itself.
